The Periodic Pen

                                              srhenterprises0520@gmail.com

This page is intended as a literary journal. What we are presently seeking is romanticist literature in modern settings. When we mention romanticism, we are not speaking only of love, relationships, and that sort of situation. Primarily what we are speaking of is a philosophy of life, where one follows his instincts, his passions, his impulses, without restraints of any type, save that dictated by logic and reason.
By now it must sound like we, here at The Periodic Pen, wish to resurrect The Golden Age. To be honest about the matter, we certainly would if we could! Surely the ageless tale of Leander swimming across the Hellespont for a bit of risque late night adventure on the sly, really excites us.
This type of romanticist mindset allows one to experience adventure at its highest degree. Men experience relationships with new, more thrilling women. Hunters seek more dangerous game in exotic places, and all of these people tend to live life on the move. People live for the thrill of being completely liberated, and their cherished right to live life on their own terms. Allow this literature journal and Rowdy Living Press to exonerate that individualist lifestyle, one that in our own time is fast fading away in the face of  an ever dawning rule of collectivist absolutism.
Forget political correctness, perish the thought from your freeborn minds, please! We here at The Periodic Pen detest the concept. The US constitution preserves freedom of the press, freedom of thought and expression. Allow those who embrace collectivist absolutism to withdraw into their own shell of repressed thought and ideological expression, certainly not us. What we admire most of all besides really fine writing, is highly creative tact, such as that displayed by Dr. Seuss, and other authors.
Remember the romantic hero, his disregard for death, his love of adventure, his passion for life? There are still such people in our own time, believe it or not. We want to hear their stories, stories of modern day swashbucklers, sea roving thieves, and all about their island hideaways. Tell us all about modern day feral cities and towns, since we really do idolize places like Port Royal, back in its days of enlightenment, high adventure,  and spectacular  wealth. We here at The Periodic Pen truly regret that we couldn't have been there to participate.
Every once in a while its really fun to read tales about modern day gun slinging cowboys, and their ladies of the night. While short stories are outstanding, poems with length to them are fine, rather that short emotionless jolts. Short, however, can really enrapture, if the creative talent is there to accomplish it, so please bear this thought in mind   If you are not quite sure yours is right, then go ahead and send it in. Let us be the judge as to quality, and so forth.
Examples of what we are seeking may be found in the poem, "The Imp And The Fairy Princess," and the short story, "Cabollo Di Las Dioses" as would be "The Tale Of Gringo El Loco." While at first glance these tales may sound as if they hark from ages passed, in some cases, they actually speak from the future.
Before any work is sent in, as always, it should be professionally edited. One mistake may well get you completely ignored in our slush pile. As we build our constituency, we plan on paying our writers, but at this time what we can offer is exposure and great publicity. Connections to this blog may be found in areas of high traffic throughout the web, such as on the game, Second Life, and numerous additional areas.
Work should be sent in a word/open office attachment. If we should choose to edit this work, we retain the right to do so. As you send it in, we are requesting your permission to do so, but we more than likely will not anyway. For the time being, remember the ageless buzz words for used cars.., as is.., well it will apply to writing published in this blog for the time being. Be sure to send us a three line biography.
Our plans are to possibly become a print journal in company with our online presence. We plan on selling very affordable  advertisement clips at some point in the future, so feel free in inquire as the urge moves. This day and time, any type of publishing affair is a delicate, very time consuming process. Our plan is to berth our way onto the web from the womb of obscurity, crawl forward on the web, then grow until we reach a front line presence in the outside world. Most assuredly we are an ever evolving work in progress!
When we do publish, the imprint will fall under that of Rowdy Living Press. Just like RLP falls under the imprint of S,R,&H Enterprises. Its all just a mite complicated, isn't it? Feel free to ask questions in regard to this imprint at any time. One may also investigate the booksie account of H.L. Dowless, link found on the fore page of this blog. All questions are to be asked via the booksie site. Good luck, my dear blog friends in all your endeavors, especially if they are adventurous and involve literature, and as always, happy writing!

Reflections On The Loss Of The Freeborn American Nation

This book analytically chronicles the rise of a corrupt collusion between a large corporate elite (aristocracy), the centralized bank and their inside government representative base. The end result was that the forces of the banks, and the large corporations, completely dominated the US government, and the average US citizen no longer had any entity within the US government that served his interests or cared for his concerns - up to this very day. Furthermore, our right to bear arms is under threat. Should the second amendment be neutralized or eliminated, suspension of the Constitution will not be far behind. The thirteenth amendment did not outlaw slavery, to every reader's shock and surprise. It simply exchanged the legal right to own slaves from the...

King Of Cat'

In the month of April, when the leaves begin to spring from their wooden sepulchers, and the rains fall from the loft of high heaven above, so geared the mighty warrior, Sebastian Oswald for mortal combat. It had been four long days since the heavy white glove of his adversary had struck him across his face, which was frozen in shock. It had been four long days now since he had sworn the sacred oath, that he would die for his honors' sake.     There was not a man alive who should strike the mighty Oswald and walk away without a fight. So he told the man to meet him by the fork at Katsle Creek, and it was agreed that they should publicize a decree in the town of Catlerbury, so that the multitudes should have the opportunity to witness the great battle for honors' sake. Not only should it be posted upon the eve of every public building, as it was agreed upon, but at high noon the voice of the town crier should carry the glorious news to every lusting ear. ...

Stairway To Tyranny

This book reviews the historical precedents that show how we are being set up for an authoritarian take-over and calls for all citizens to work together to stop it in its tracks. US history as we know it has been twisted and distorted to throw us off the trail, so that we misread the signs that indicate the danger we are in. Every major issue has been condensed into an emotional distraction for the purpose of concealing the facts. We have a corporate stranglehold on the economy; collusion between Washington and the bankers/businesses; creeping laws that take private property away from hard-working families and individuals for the benefit of those at the top...Are we walking right into the trap?  Authority is being concentrated, our liberties are chipped away, and what little wealth we manage to scrape together is confiscated on more and more flimsy pretexts. The privately-held resource base that was supposed to be the bedrock of this c...
